Re: Remembering Christopher Stasheff

Thank you for the email notice! Very sad to hear about the passing of your father. He brought a lot of joy to my life in the 30 plus years I've been reading his work! To this day I think about lessons and ideas I read in his books and look forward to sharing them and passing them on to my daughter. ...

Re: Starship Troupers 4: The Unknown Guest

Has it only been a month and a week? Seems like much longer. Only typo I found this time was (I think) leaving out "I" in the first sentence, so it should read (if I'm correct), "Lazaro and I came down off the stage..." Good chapter and interesting development. I really like the ...

Re: Starship Troupers 4: The Unknown Guest

kf6eml wroteColonThese books are written in the first person. When Ogden's name is mentioned in the third person, the story is being told by either Horace or Ramou.

Yes, but reread the last part of the paragraph. Why is Horace now taking credit for what he just said Ogden was saying?

Re: Starship Troupers 4: The Unknown Guest

Typo in Ch. 9: “He did indeed,” Ogden told him, “because young folk tend to favor change—starting at the beginnings of their careers, they have little to lose, and changes in politics or business may favor them. Elector Rudders not only resists change, but actually tries to reverse it!” I said with ...

Re: Starship Troupers

I liked part nine. Seemed to carry over the tone of the first three books better than previous chapters. One question I had was that I noticed in the published books that an occasional comment would be made that indicated this was a story being told long after it had happened. I haven't really notic...

Re: The Ghost of Resartus

I liked it, but I thought it could use a little more fleshing out to let the reader grow a little closer to the bolos and maybe more question whether Miles had really lost it and was becoming unstable and dangerous. Also saw one or two typos in part two: During the conversation before they are going...

Re: Can I buy an 'are'?

I hesitate to ask this as I'm no grammar expert, but with the previous usage this sentence is playing off of being in past tense, shouldn't this one also use past tense? No rush—I sauntered over to Barry, taking my time following Suzanne, who was always worth watching from the back. From the front, ...

Re: Starship Troupers

Keep meaning to do this.... Mr. Stasheff, thanks so much for the decades of reading enjoyment. I started off with Warlock Unlocked around 30 years ago and have read pretty much every thing you've published since then (except the Wizard in Rhyme series after book 3 I think). Thank you very much for c...
