Re: Hole in the Heart

You have the talent of the Storyteller. Raconteur. Whatever. It takes some skill to make other people care about complete strangers the way you have.
You'll understand the compliment, I hope, when I say: "I know." and "Thank you for telling me."

So, are you working on any novels?

Re: Rogue Wizard Reading Order

Ummm. I take it back. Maybe I have been published. I subscribe to GAMES magazine, and I found an error in one of their puzzles. I wrote a 6-stanza limerick with the dual purpose of pointing it out (gleefully rubbing it in...) and begging for a T-shirt. They published the limerick, with credit, and s...

Re: Rogue Wizard Reading Order

Perhaps I could have been more clear: I have never been published. The only short pieces that may be worth sharing that come to my mind were pieces that other friends of mine have had published. There are some short stories I liked, but the ones I like enough to want to share them were usually in ma...

Re: A Thread For Fan Writing, Fiction or Non-

Thank you. I'm glad you found something in it. I wrote it as a rebuttal to the great many people I have heard expressing disgust for all the things I mentioned. How often have we heard people asking how cake, ice cream, loud music and those bouncy-house things are appropriate for celebrating veteran...

Re: Rogue Wizard Reading Order

I read all of the Glass Marines, and liked it very much. The only shorts I can think of offhand are syndicated columns or previously published shorts. Not likely to be anything you can post here. I had a friend once who liked to write; I can see if he still does, though it's been a number of years s...

Re: Rogue Wizard Reading Order

I doubt the capital would have been a death sentence for the book, even if the ad were just a smoke screen for someone else's claim to the name.

Re: Rogue Wizard Reading Order

Suddenly, I am struck by an old metaphor; "Seeing the Elephant." In case you haven't heard it, it describes several blind men approaching an elephant from different places. The one at the front feels the tusk, and says, "An elephant is hard and smooth." The one at the tail says, ...

Re: A New Novel by Alvin J. Flitman

I liked it. Another "pact with the devil" story, like thousands that have come before... ;) Reminds me of a short that I read a long time ago. I believe it was called "If at first you don't succeed, to hell with it!" by Charles Fritch. http://isawlightningfall.blogspot.com/2009/0...
