Re: Wizard Required

False modesty hardly becomes you, Dr. Stasheff. Your plots are exactly right for the stories you tell. Not overly formulaic, but not too heavy with twisty politics and nine thousand characters to keep straight. I will admit I find the plot to "Her Majesty's Wizard" pretty standard guy meet...

Re: Stealing Time

I've read "A Study in Scarlet, the Sign of the Four and The Hound of the Baskervilles" but it's been such a long time that I'm about due to re-read them. I don't remember if I've read any of the short stories.

Re: Stealing Time

Chapter three moves briskly and the author does very well with allowing the 1950s agent to speak plainly while not neglecting the Victorian woman's point-of-view. A less skilled author would leave you with a case of mental whiplash with such a tactic. Of course, with the detailed development of her ...

I feel like I'm the only one who posts anything here. We need to advertise, and get some regulars in here for some stimulating conversation and rotten puns. This forum is in my daily to-do list of assorted forums, (fora?) webcomics, games and other things, and things get pretty boring around here af...

Re: Wizard Required

Both of the references were fine, it just seemed like they were a little close together. One thing I seem to recall from the original books (and you can't write in Dr. S's universe without being compared to him!) was that the references to our universe were usually made while Matt was thinking about...

Re: Wizard Required

I'm liking it. The characters seem to "fit" quite well in the Merovence universe, and Matt's personality seems consistent with the other books. The mystery has deepened, you've brought doubt into the charges against Ortho, and you've set up for a good follow-on investigation, possibly to r...

Re: Stealing Time

Nice cameo in the second chapter - I think Sir Arthur would have approved :D

So, is this book going public soon? Really. I want to buy it. (I'd even pay a premium for an autographed first edition...)

Re: Stealing Time

Perhaps you could have a free section of the website, as it is now, and a premium section where people pay a monthly fee ($.99 or whatever,) where new fiction would be posted. A year subscription ($11.88) would entitle the user to download some of CS's books in e-book format. (Either 4 - 6 old title...
