There are only 2 problems...

1 The publisher only gave one font size.
2 After that there are no more books in that series.

The font size of the two books is a bit too small for him to read. This is simple to fix but after several attempts with the book store to get the publisher to alter it I give up.

In regards to problem #1, there is a simple fix available: Download "Calibre" (by Kovid Goyal), the wondrous eBook management software I use almost daily. Calibre allows you to import, convert and export almost every eBook format there is, and also enables you to select a font size that works for you.

I also use Calibre to backup all my Kindle and iTunes book purchases so I can restore them in case of emergency. The software is free, although you are welcome to contribute financially, (as I have) if you find it valuable.

I'm afraid I can't help with problem #2, as too many authors and publishers still seem wary of electronic formats.

Hey why no new audio books. I have to drive from Florida to Virginia in the morning and there aren't any new Warlock books yet. Now I have to download Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality. While Piers has a good series there it isn't as entertaining as Rod and his friends are. Please have them start recording King Kobold Revived soon!

I think the e-book phenomenon isn't spreading as fast as it could because some readers are daunted by the technology involved. I, of course, don't have that problem, thanks to Ortho, my font of wisdom. Thanks, Elder Geek.

Thanks for the moral upport, davinger -- and as anyon can tell you, my morals need supporting. I seem to get les and less done these days, but I may be able to try Chapter 1 again.

I've watched the amazing progression of technology since the 1980s. My father who is nearly 84 who grew up in Scotland saw horses and carriages because it was believed that the car would forever be a plaything of the rich. I remember when the board of directors at IBM was presented with the first PC and sold the patent for buttons "Because it would only be a rich man's toy." The first e-readers and audio books were treated much the same way.

My 16 year old son is attending public schools and for the last 2 years all of his textbooks have been contained in a single iPad. The Dean of his school pointed out that the bulk purchase of iPads at about $100 each saved the county more than $500 per student. Not to mention that I gave the county $50 for insurance each year in case his is lost or stolen.

Sites like Audible, Barnes & Noble and we can't forget Amazon are making enormous profits while saving people a great deal of money. They say that diamonds are forever but not quite as long as something on the internet.

My point is that to bypass because of the fact that only a few use it at present is regressive. While not all technology is a sure thing I can with confidence say that libraries and compact discs to include blu-rays are going the way of the door nail. I'm not throwing my rotary phone away just in case they make a sudden resurgence. People download complete sets of books more often than they will download a partial one.

Kelley Armstrong the writer of The Women of the Otherworld series discovered this when she was converting her paperbacks to audio format. I believe it was book 2 of what was then a 12 book series had been published by a different publisher. The second publisher was giving her fits and wouldn't let her convert book 2. Once they did her numbers went north. My wife was blaming me of course since I'm the tech guru of the house.

I must very heartily concur... and as a very long time fan (most of my life in fact, and i reread at least twice a year if not more) i can tell you that the ebook phenomena is not going anywhere, as im sure you know by now That said... i am very nearly desperate for an ebook version of one of my favorites, "The Spell-Bound Scholar.. Gregory's story...i own it in hard copy, paperback that is, but with my failing health and eyesight, i simply have not the strength to hold up real books and turn pages, nor can i read the font. Please tell me you have an ebook version ready or that you have access to one at least...

Oh... I write a bit of fan fic or really role playing games myself, and ive always thought you were one of the few if not the only one to get the science behind teleportation right.. there absolutely SHOULD be a loud bang whenever air is displaced hehe.. so whether im playing a witch, an esper, or a dragonrider.. i always include that detail.. thank you so much for all youve given me, and my children... all four of them In reverse to you and in sync with Rod.. i have three boys and a girl .
