Good to meet you, Ana. I hope you will enjoy some more of my books. I've been informed that engineers enjoy SAINT VIDICON books -- my studio engineer told he that he himself had experienced every one of the glitches in the book. Theater folk like the Starship Troupers, and a surprizing variety enoy the Doc Angus stories (the only one pubished in hardback so far is in MIND OUT OF TIME, repeated from THE WARLOCK UNLOCKED.) We've put up o0ne of them -- "King John's Treasure." Let me know how you liked it.

Thanks for the welcome! I thought "King John's Treasure" was a very enjoyable read, and I am eager to get back into your books. I am neither an engineer nor a woman of the theater, sadly. Just a student, museum aficionado, and occasionally a local Target store worker.

I have, however, read Escape Velocity, and I did really like that one. I think part of the reason I never read more of your books when I was younger was that we have a pretty shady library system, and I didn't have the means to purchase the books outright.

But now, with a little luck and a little time, I'll definitely be tracking them down.

I was just 12 years old when I first read The Warlock Inspite of Himself.
...and it had me hooked.

Years later when I found this book in a bookshop, it became the beginning of my science fiction/fantasy library. I now have over 800 books in this genre, and Christopher Stasheff is still my favorite author.

Every month I check to see if he has had any new books published. It has been a long wait since St Vidicon.

What can we do to see more books in print? At this stage I am wondering if prayer might have the most effect.

Thankyou Christopher for many years of wonderful entertainment through your books - science, religion, and politics, plus a dose of love. What more could we want? (More of the same of course!)

I got hooked on SF at about the same age, Helen. The book/hook was THE INCOMPLEAT ENCHANTER. Glad I've been able to bring the story back home.

There is something magical about the first sci-fi book you read, and it always has a place in your heart.

What Chris forgot to mention is that, much later in life, he got to write and publish short stories in the Incompleat Enchanter universe, and got to work with L. Sprague DeCamp professionally on Enchanter sequel anthologies. I imagine that had to be pretty cool (and intimidating)!

Warlock Is Missing has my favorite opening line of any book in the series:

"Once upon a time there were three little warlocks and a witch, and they lost their mommy and daddy."

... or something like that - I haven't got the book in front of me right now.
