Mr. Stasheff,
You can count me in on waiting what seems like forever for the next book in the Starship Troopers. I got the original book in Hardback when it came out and loved it. Then 10 years later I found the 2nd and third book. Funny part is for me I joined the U.S. Navy and so here I am reading about actors going to different worlds and here I was going to different countries and having to balance their customs vs. what is my customs. I found all the characters unique and special with hopes for more from each of them and how they reacted to each other and the people in the audience. I understand that you may only do the 4th book to put a conclussion to these characters but please don't rush them through to finish. Part of the joy of them is how unhurried the story is unfolded to us the readers. Thank you,
Daniel

Re: Starship Troupers
Next Troupers book is in progress, Daniel -- I wrote seven chapters five years ago, then ran out of gas. Of course, when I decided to work on them again, I couldn't find them. Ortho recovered them from disk-Limbo, so we'll at least get to see the company visit a haunted planet. We'll put the first few chapters on this website.
Thanks,

Re: Starship Troupers
The wife and I are yet more Stasheff fans that haven't seen the inside of a theatre outside of school trips (and it's been a long time since either of us went to one of those!).
Over here in the UK, the Gallowglass family wasn't that easy to find in the first place - we found the books at a store called "Forbidden Planet" that imported American paperbacks. The Gallowglass's in turn lead us to discover Starship Troupers, and become thoroughly frustrated when the series ended with no sign of the next segment.
I must admit I'd given up all hope of ever seeing more of my favourite Stasheff series, and actually wondered if Chris had died. So I set out to find out if he still existed (or when he died!) on the net... and found this site
Obviously I'd be more than happy to buy the rest of the series (4,5 and 6) despite my lack of theatrical background
I'll go complain about the brevity of the online chapters now

I am so excited that I clicked on this site and found more Starship Troupers! I won't act as though I have any right to insist on more -- I own all of Christopher Stasheff's books and I'm grateful that he's offering a little more of my favorites.
Please continue if it pleases you to do so -- knowing that I deeply enjoy reading it!

Mr. Stasheff,
I was very pleased to find this site, and especially happy to learn that another book may be forthcoming. I have my own story to share about Starship Troupers.
About 18 years ago, when I was taking a Freshman Composition II, I had a discussion with my instructor, stating that science fiction was indeed a form of literature, at least modern science fiction. As part of my argument, I presented him with freshly purchased copies of Starship Troupers.
My wife and I quite enjoyed these books, and we have been looking forward to reading more, and seeing some of the mysteries resolved. We assume that the Starship Troupers takes place in the same universe as The Warlock In Spite of Himself, and wonder often about the connections that may be revealed.
Thank you for your writing, it has often been an escape for me, and I am an avid reader.

Re: Starship Troupers
fORBIDDEN PLANET is a great store, Cliff -- thugh I may be thinking of another one; that weekend in the UK was very rushed. I'm glad they were stocking some of my books --- shelf space in that store is an honor, A few years before that (around 1986), a British publication had reported my death. I was glad to be able to use Mark Twain's line and say that the reports of my death had been somewhat exaggerated. Another reviewer said that mny writing conjured up the image of a doggy sort of auctorial personna doing his party piece.. At the time, I did wear tweeds and smoke a pipe, but I haven't published my party piece, because someone else wrote it and it's under copyri8ght. Worse, I can't even remember his name!
Thankis for the kind words.

It is almost getting to the point of not wanting to come in and talk, as every notice I get of a reply is a diatribe or sales pitch.
I'd really like to get back to the Troupers themselves! I've been gone for a while, is Book 4 close to completion/publication as a whole?
Thanks!

I hear ya, RN7457. I just installed a new CAPTCHA plugin this morning that's supposed to be harder for spambots to crack... and it seems to be working so far. Two hours and no spam... keep your fingers crossed!
