Re: Starship Troupers
kf6eml did I spell that right+) for your insightful comments. The relationships in the Rogue Wizard series don't get tied up until THE WARLOCK'S LAST RIDES, which is as much about the second generation as the first. Good point, that I should have made the realtionship between relations and goals right at the outsetl, instead of brodding about it in the last few pages.
I currently have several novels in process -- the final epsiode in the STARSHIP TROUPERS series, DRAGON'S DIGEST, which will explore the relationship between a character and his author, the Doc Angus book more or less finished by in need of an ovehaul, and I may come up with more ideas while working on these. Which one I work on will depend a lot on which one the readers of this board find most interesting. Sorry, but my ultimate goal is to prove to the editors that there''s enough market to publish me again. If you wanjt a full book right away, may I recommend Peter D'Alessio'[s UNCLE MERL'S BAR AND GRILL in Chris's Friends -- the author is currently disposed toward letting us put up the whole novel, chapter by chapter. The first chapter is very moving, the rest had me laughing my hat off, all tied together amazingly by a strong plot.

I'm greatly encouraged that you plan on doing some more in the Starship Troupers series. While not a theater "buff", I definitely enjoyed the series and have been waiting to see some more of the characters.
In actuality, I would like the series to finish the six book run, I just don't think you can close up the series well with just one book. Look what happened to the final book of Jordan's series.
BTW, I'm really glad I stumbled across this site. It's almost like Christopher had fallen off the face of the publishing world.

Re: Starship Troupers
Here is my two cents worth towards proving to the editors that we need another (preferably another three) Starship Troupers books! I have been periodically prowling websites looking for mention of a new book ever since being lent a copy of A Company of Stars some six years ago. This was the first Stasheff book that had come my way, and it's still my favourite (that I've read so far, anyway - New Zealand libraries and bookshops are sadly deficient in stocking many overseas publishers!).
For the record, I'm not a theatre person (pretty much everything I know about theatre I can reference to a Starship Troupers book) although I admit to being a sci-fi fan, so I don't think you need to limit your market to the overlap of the two!
As far as feedback goes, aside from the occasional inconsistency in spelling (like Larry switching between being Mr Rash and Mr Lash - unless this is a pun I've missed), the only thing that really bugged me was the fact that at the end of book three there wasn't book four to wrap up the continuing plots! Loved the story, loved the characters.
And a PS - my dad, on hearing I was posting, asked me to add him to the reasons for the editors to accept book 4/5/6!

Re: Starship Troupers
Hello! I just found this website goggling about the Starship Troupers series and wanted to add my two cents of support. I loved the entire trilogy to date and would have loved another three books but would snap up a fourth book in a heart beat to read. I'd also be willing to buy it as an ebook.
I'm glad to hear that you are working on wrapping up the stories because it was clear that there was more to come and I enjoyed it ever so much.
Peace!

Would dearly love to know what happens after the third book.I was addicted from page 1 and am in withdrawal from not being able to read further(have re-read so many times I had to purchase another copy of first two books).I am a professional mechanic and not a live theater fan but was captured by the characters as well as the guided history of theater.
Re: Starship Troupers
Add me in: learned quite a bit the "backroom video arcade" way about theater from these books. I enjoy going to the theater occasionaly, but knew very little about the backstage production end.
I was really impressed by the talking head show, all naration and only facial expressions. I think the flirt got off planet just in time for her own sake, and while her brother might miss her is likely going to be quite relieved to have her gone. Not sure I really like her though, is too willing to use people selfishly for her own ends.

As you can see I really enjoy this series.... Can't wait for the e-books. It's a lot harder to wear them out.
My only gripe is that there are only three books in the picture...
(My original copies of HMW and WiSoH are in much worse shape)

Dear Dr. Stasheff,
Please add me to the list of fans and paying customers who have been waiting a long time for the Starship Troupers series to continue. I read your first Warlock book as a high school student back in the early 70's and EVERY one of your subsequent books as the years rolled by.
There is no longer an Asimov, Heinlein, De Camp, or even a Louis L'Amour to turn to for a first rate fresh yarn with some valuable teachings or knowledge added to the mix. The world needs new stories from Christopher Stasheff to help fill the void. Please tell the publishers that we are waiting on them.

Re: Starship Troupers
Hello, let me also say that I can't wait for a further installment of Starship Troupers. I, also, know little about the theater, but that hasn't in the slightest kept me from enjoying the series.
I'm re-reading the series now, and finally decided that I had to get online and see if I could find any information about whether there would be more. I'm glad to see that there may be more coming. I'd love to see a wrapup book, but in a way I'm sad that it will only be one book. The great thing about these books is the slow and realistic growth of the relationships between the characters, and Ramou's emergence into...what?...a man of the theater?...a leader?...a lover?...someone who knows and appreciates himself? The growth has been gradual, so I fear that a single wrapup book will have to terribly different from the first three. Not that that will keep me from purchasing the book if it comes out. I desperately need to know what happens to everyone!
