Forget the next installment, I want to buy the book!

How much for an autographed first edition? :D

Good news! Chapter 2 comes out tomorrow. Beyond that... I'd have to ask Chris. I think he's enjoying writing it, though, which is a good sign.

I am so glad, the next book is in production. Not sure how you are going to compress the story left into one volume, unless it is in the league of "Lord of the Rings" :D

More more! or shall I sat Encore, encore!

The only thing I have never managed to work out though, is why all of these books (except maybe King Kobol ;) ) made it into the mainstream more.

I was a fan of the series lo these many years ago; glad to be re-acquainted with some old friends (minor gripe: find myself wanting Marnie to have some redeeming qualities). More than any of the other series, I have been waiting 15 years now for sequels.

Sharon Lee and Steve Miller helped see two of their Liaden books to publication by putting them online by the chapter, and accepting money, posting new chapters online when enough money had arrived. The first 1200 to give $25 got signed hardcovers eventually...(though I believe they were only promised softcovers).

And, of course, people voting with their money--the modern version of democracy, apparently--helped get two of their more speculative novels a commercial publisher.

Not sure this would work, but it's worth a mention.

I'd be willing to pay.

No. Seriously.

How much for an autographed first edition?

Preferably pre-publication... I know I certainly don't want to wait for the publisher to get it out. They're so SLOW!

Next week, I'm afraid. Chris has been recently distracted from his writing routine by a trip to Kansas City to visit new grandchild #5.
