Re: Wizard Required
was Ortho telling his story the end of the story? It seemed to be.. not quite done.. or at least left me starving for more, but then im always starved for more Stasheff.. and apparently your Papa is not the only one who can provide me with my fix LOL. One can of course figure out whatelse happened since Ortho the Frank was Matts assistant in future books, but.. ah well. It was beautifully written and fit into the others like the proverbial glove, Thank you! And thank you Dr. Stasheff for raising such a talented son.
That said.. i need MORE.
Where can i find the star ship troopers series? Its the only place ive never before ventured in the Stasheff universes... as far as i know heh. Ive read all the Gramarye and Rhyme stories, multiple times. St. Vidicon, Escape Velocity, et al as well.. Will the Starship line be coming out on ebook? Im afraid i no longer have the strength or eyesight to handle real books.. PDF is about all i can do because i can make it much larger and brighter...I feel kinda bad cause i have downloaded most of your books, but i was hoping i would be forgiven because i have owned all the ones ive downloaded in hardcopy several times each (and still do, those that havent been worn out or destroyed by young readers, i have 4 kids of my own heh) But i would be quite willing to purchase anything i havent already bought! If i can FIND them for purchase..
Sorry to ramble but you are one of my favorite authors, and have been since i was pretty young (i think i started reading you when i was 8?)

Re: Wizard Required
Wow, thanks for the compliments! Yes, there's more to this story, and I really need to get back to it. I got sidetracked by another project (Financial Freedom). Encouragement like this is just what I need.
Sadly, the Starship Troopers series is not out on ebook yet, and I won't get to converting it for a while. I've even had trouble finding bootleg digital copies floating around the internet. The exception is book 4, which is currently on this site, and will (when it's done; not long now) probably be the first to get converted. Then again, I'm sure you'd rather not start with the last book of the series.
So check this site periodically for updates and stuff. We're releasing the Wizard in Bedlam ebook next (with new cover art!), probably by the end of the month.

Re: Wizard Required
I actually have book 3 of starship troopers (i believe) if you need it, but i havent read it yet, for the reason you mentioned lol. I guess i will just reread the ones i have (again) till you get to it lol. Im reading all the little short stories and articles on this site while i wait for more. Its a veritable treasure trove
. I would try my hand at a fan fic but im afraid i would be horrible at it, im bad about run on sentances and ellipses are far too often my friends
. My mind gets ahead of my fingers as well, so i often miss capitalization and spelling and punctuation errors that i would not miss in someone else's work (im available for editing lol.) I'm actually quite good at catching the mistakes of others, and won the National Language Arts Olympiad two years in a row in high school... of course that was too many years ago to mention teehee. I hope you do get around to writing more of Ortho's story, i cant wait to read it
You are a talented author in your own right, so im sure you want to write in your own worlds and get too busy to play in your father's
Welp, ive got to get back to schooling my own (im a homeschooler, and use your father's books to teach several subjects heh) and will stop gushing on you for now. Thanks again for this great site!

Re: Wizard Required
Hi there, another fan of Stasheff in general and this fic in particular. The story was the second link I followed when I found the main site a week or so ago, and I've highly enjoyed reading it so far. I figured I'd better register and add some more encouragement for you. Hopefully you find the time to get back to it in the next month or two. Meanwhile, I guess I'll just have to look around the rest of the forum.

Thanks, bookworm5! Encouragement like this definitely motivates me.
Remember, this is at best a rough draft. Any comments or critiques about what could be improved are always welcome.

Re: Wizard Required
If you're looking for encouragement to finish "The Apprentice Wizard", please consider this to be some. I currently have 41 Stasheff books on my bookshelf. I'd love to add another (hint - "The Apprentice Wizard") even if it's just to my digital shelf.
Seriously, I have downloaded all the installments that you've posted to the website. I've been waiting not too patiently for the last part to show up.
Thanks,
John D.

Re: Wizard Required
Please, Please. When can we expect Part II of THE WEDGE AND THE HAMMER? It's an excellent story and deserves to be completed.
Thanks,
John D.

Re: Wizard Required
You're right, John, two years is far to long to wait for the next chapter.
Well, I've just finished Pete's Boozy Banshee and am two-thirds of the way through converting Witch Doctor to ebook. After Witch Doctor is done, I'm going to take a break from ebook conversion to get my own @#$%&! writing finished (although I'll keep updating the website, of course).
My first priority is to wrap up Predatory Practices, as the rough draft is finished and I'm 2/3 of the way through the rewrite phase. Then I'll finish the rough draft for Apprentice Wizard. It'll need a stiff rewrite before being released as an ebook, though.
Thanks for the encouragement (and the kick in the pants)

Re: Wizard Required
Is there any more of this story available after "THE WEDGE AND THE HAMMER"?
I would love to read the rest of the story.
I can't get enough of the Stasheff worlds.

Re: Wizard Required
Thanks for the compliment! Yes, there is more, and I may be able to kick out the second half of the chapter in a few weeks. Hopefully I can turn my full attention to finishing the entire story this summer. Sorry, I know you probably wanted to hear it'd be available sooner.
Thanks for the encouragement, though!
